Frequently asked questions
How many questions are in the app?
FL Permit Prep has 150 questions in rotation. Each quiz draws 50 questions at random — the same number as the real Florida DHSMV permit test. Every retake is a different mix.
How is the quiz different from the real test?
The real Florida permit test has 50 multiple-choice questions and requires a score of 80% (40 correct) to pass. FL Permit Prep matches this exactly — 50 questions, 80% to pass. Content is aligned to the official 2023 Florida Class E Driver Handbook.
How do I use the read-aloud feature?
Every study card has a "Read aloud" button. Tap it to have that section read to you. On the quiz, tap "Read question aloud" to hear the question and all four answer choices spoken clearly. Tap the button again at any time to stop.
Does the app require an internet connection?
No. FL Permit Prep works completely offline after it is downloaded. All content is stored on your device. No account or login is required.
Is my quiz score or progress saved?
Each quiz session is independent — your score is shown at the end of each quiz but is not stored between sessions. This is by design to protect your privacy. We collect no personal data of any kind.
I found a question that seems incorrect. What should I do?
Please email us at support@flpermitprep.com with the question text and what you believe the correct answer should be. We review all submissions and update the app when corrections are needed. Include the Florida Driver Handbook page reference if you have it — that helps us verify quickly.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play — not by us directly. On iPhone/iPad: go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. On Android: open the Google Play Store, go to your order history, and request a refund within the eligible window.
Will the app be updated when Florida changes the exam?
Yes. When FLHSMV updates the Florida Driver Handbook or exam content, we update the app. All updates are free — your one-time purchase includes all future content updates.
Is FL Permit Prep affiliated with FLHSMV or the State of Florida?
No. FL Permit Prep is an independent product developed by HD Mapping LLC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FLHSMV or the State of Florida. Content is based on the publicly available Florida Driver Handbook.
